In August, J.B.Hunt made the first company delivery using an all-electric Class 8 truck. After three months of testing the company performed a trip of 120 miles for Walmart with an eCascadia, which will be integrated to their LA daily fleet operations.
According to J.B Hunt’s director of operations, Craig Harper, the company is always looking for innovatory solutions to enhance the sustainability of their fleet and operations.
The all-electric truck is completely eco-friendly thanks to their zero emissions. With a 525-horsepower engine, a driving range of up 250 miles and the ability of recharging 80 percent in only 90 minutes, the expectation is to commend the eCascadia as a great vehicle option for regional and local drayage and distribution.
The terminal of LA installed charging stations and training related to the operation of all-electric vehicle for drivers. The eCascadia tested by J.B Hunt integrates Freightliner Customer Experience Fleet, an action to supply DTNA client`s personal experiences and putting electric vehicles into effect in their regular operations.
