Goodyear announced in the first half of the year at Waste Expo 2022 that beginning in the third quarter of this year, Endurance WHA model tires would already be made from a renewable soybean oil compound and they were already available for order in North America.

The company`s goal with this action is to completely replace petroleum-derived oils by 2040. According to Jessica Julian, North American Product Marketing Business Manager, it would take about 16 fluid ounces of petroleum oil that will be replaced by renewable soybean oil.

Jessica added that if this measure of a tire is applied to a regional fleet of about 500 waste transportation vehicles, the reduction in oil would be equivalent to the reduction of about 15 barrels of oil.

Truck fleets that switch to Endurance WHA tires will be closer to meeting their sustainability goals as well as having longer-lasting tires thanks to the dual-ply tread compound.
